Cleaning your Steller Hardwood Floor is easy!
While hardwood floors are durable, they can become damaged by excess water. When you're cleaning your Steller Floor we recommend using a damp (not dripping) mop and cleaners designed for hardwood floors finished with polyurethane.
Recent advances in cleaning products have made cleaning hardwood floors easier than ever. Instead of using a wet mop, opt for either:
- A microfiber mop or cloth that is designed to pick up dirt and grime without leaving excess moisture behind.
- Disposable cleaning heads designed specifically for hardwood floors.
We love vacuuming robots but we recommend using extra care if you are using steam or robotic mops for cleaning your floors to ensure they aren't leaving excess water behind.
When cleaning your hardwood floors, work in small sections, moving from one area to another until the entire floor is clean. By following these simple steps, you can keep your hardwood floors looking beautiful for years to come.
Steller Floors' Hardwood Deep Cleaning
When you have a spill in excess of 1 cup of water or a liquid spill that needs extra attention (like pet accidents), act quickly to prevent damage to your Steller Floors. Fortunately, the flexibility of Steller Floors allows you to easily address all types of spills. To begin the deep cleaning process, simply grab a suction cup and remove the affected planks.
Once the planks have been removed, clean both the planks and the subfloor using the same process described above. This will ensure that all excess water and any stains or debris have been removed. After cleaning and drying the planks, it's important to briefly air out the subfloor completely to prevent any moisture from becoming trapped underneath the floor.
Large Floods
In the worst-case scenarios where there is a large flood or deep cleaning operation needed, it's important to take extra precautions to ensure that no excess water is left behind. After removing, cleaning, and drying the planks, it may be necessary to use a dehumidifier to dry out the subfloor completely before re-installing your Steller Floor. This will ensure that no water becomes trapped underneath the floor.
