Frequently asked questions

Are Steller Floors suitable for areas at risk of water leaks?

Steller Floors are produced with kiln-dried, dimensionally stable hardwood and commercial-grade sealants that block moisture and resist swelling or warping for up to 48 hours after a leak. Advanced paraffin-wax edge sealants bead water on contact, slowing ingress and giving you ample time to locate and stop leaks before damage occurs.

Our patented floating assembly lets you easily and quickly lift, dry, and re-install individual planks in minutes—no full-floor tear-out or special tools required.

Are Steller Floors compatible with hydronic subfloor heating systems?

Yes. Like many premium engineered and hardwood floors, Steller Flooring is fully compatible with hydronic (warm-water) radiant heat systems when installed per the manufacturer’s guidelines. This includes maintaining subfloor and plank temperatures within specified ranges and using proper moisture controls.

How do I dry and restore my floor after discovering a water leak?

Locate and stop the leak immediately to prevent further moisture ingress.

Remove affected planks using the provided suction cup to expose the subfloor.

Dry thoroughly with a dehumidifier and industrial fans; monitor moisture levels until they return to normal.

Inspect and clean the subfloor—remove debris, ensure flatness, and treat any mold or mildew per best practices.

Reinstall planks, checking for proper alignment and snap-fit; order replacements or request warranted parts if needed to blend repairs seamlessly.

Can I remove planks to dry out and then reinstall my floor after a leak?

Absolutely. Steller Floors employs an interlocking, floating installation system that allows individual planks to be lifted and removed without harming adjacent boards. Once removed, you can dry both the affected planks and the exposed subfloor using fans or a dehumidifier, then reinstall the same planks—saving on replacement costs and installation time.

What does the lifetime limited warranty cover for water-related issues?

48-Hour Shape & Function Warranty: when you purchase the lifetime limtelimited warranty, any plank exposed to water and properly dried within 48 hours is guaranteed to retain its shape and structural integrity.

Standard vs. Lifetime Limited Coverage: The Standard Warranty handles material defects, while the optional Lifetime Limited Warranty (registered within 30 days) extends to shape restoration after short-term liquid exposure (<48 hours) for the original owner .

Seamless DIY Claims: Snap photos of affected planks, submit a warranty ticket, and replace with new boards yourself—no full replacement or hidden labor fees.

Full Radiant-Heat Support: Warranties cover installations over hydronic heating (≤80 °F) and both above- and below-grade subfloors when installed according to NWFA’s radiant-heat guidelines.

Inspection and Assurance: Steller reserves inspection rights to verify claims via photos or samples, ensuring you receive the exact replacement materials needed without extra hassle.
